The Great Wildebeest Migration mesmerizes every year as millions of wildebeests, zebras, and other herbivores cross the vast Serengeti in search of greener pastures. This epic journey spans about 1,200 miles and earns the title “Greatest Wildlife Show on Earth.”
Location and Timing
However, Serengeti National Park serves as the epicenter of the Wildebeest Migrations, with the optimal viewing period spanning the dry season from July to October. During this time, the herds congregate on the park’s plains to graze, drawing predators such as lions and cheetahs.

Day 1: Journey to the Ngorongoro Crater | 1 Night
Our driver will pick you up from your location in Arusha, with a picnic hot lunch en route to a full-day Ngorongoro Crater tour. Therefore, you will go 2000ft down the crater by a 4-wheel drive vehicle, explore the crater before ascending, and drive to your Lodge set on a crater rim. The Ngorongoro Crater is often called ‘Africa’s Eden’ and the ‘8th Natural Wonder of the World,’ a visit to the crater is a main drawcard for tourists coming to Tanzania and a definite world-class attraction.The crater houses 30,000 animals and many birds, rarely moving from the area due to water availability through wet and dry seasons. We returned to the Lodge in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Ngorongoro – Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, drive to Serengeti National Park for a full-day wildlife game viewing. The park is well known for its healthy stock of other resident wildlife, particularly the “big five,” named for the five most prized trophies taken by hunters. However, Lion: The Serengeti is believed to hold the largest population of lions in Africa due to the abundance of prey species. More than 3,000 lions live in this ecosystem. African leopard: Therefore, these reclusive predators are commonly seen in the Seronera region but are present throughout the national park, with a population of around 1,000—African elephants.
Days 3-4: Serengeti North (Mara River)
After breakfast at the Camp, depart with your picnic lunch for North Serengeti. Hence, In Serengeti North, resident wildlife thrives in Wagakuria, boasting a pride of up to 30 strong lions. However, from June to September, the area transforms into a wildlife paradise. The Mara River is the focal point, with expectations that the herds will actively cross it to the north. The Serengeti Mara River views the excellent migration river crossing. We returned to the Camp for the evening bonfire, dinner, and overnight.
Day 5: Farewell Tanzania
Then, After breakfast at Mara Mara Tented Lodge, you are transferred to the local Kogatende Airstrip for the one-hour flight to Arusha Airport, where you will make your onward travel arrangements and end this tour. Therefore, this is the end of 5 Days Serengeti Migration Safari
